If and whenever you replace the cap, could you test it and post a follow-up?
The cap should release air at 15 psi or so (I need to verify this).
If not, then I wonder at what psi it will release air...
Inquiring mind wants to know...

It says 150 kpa right on the green cap. 150 kpa = 1.5 ATM = 21.7557 psi.

- Volvo?
- Nissens?
- Behr?
For my '96, I went with a Behr. The original one that I pulled out of my car was made by Behr, also. The only visible differences between the one I bought and the original one from the car: the new one had black plastic tank as opposed to the off-white/yellowish plastic. The new one only said "Behr" while the original one had Behr AND Volvo printed on it.

I figured, if the original Behr-made core lasted 20 years...hopefully the replacement will as well. I also fitted a new coolant expansion cap while I was at it. The old one did not hold pressure when I tested it with my radiator cap pressure tester.

I may go with a Swedish Car Parts core on a newly-acquired V70, but I'm a bit concerned about the o-ring fitment issues that I've been reading about.

I have one of these waiting to go into my car i saw afew drips that were frozen, now i do notice small white spots underneath where my 850 had the heatercore die and was leaking by the o rings. however my 850 i put a behr in.
does washing off the coating make the unit last longer? i will make sure i take my time installing it when i get around to it.

I can’t remember brand I used but it was either a Nissens or Behr, and was 6 years, 100,000 miles ago
