240 Trunk Popper

Hi!

I am curious about the electric trunk popper for the 240. I have been offered one to use on my '87 240 GL, but I have seen in some places that is was actually only on earlier model years, but still other people telling me it should work on my year. Does anybody know if it will work on a 1987 trunk lid, maybe with some adaptation?

This was an option on 240 series and was also available on 260 series. From the 79 model year till 1985. In 1986 they dropped it because from 86 and newer they included the trunk lock with the central locking.

Later model 240 series turbo sedans have it like the 83-85 model years.
