Center console shifter access hole between manual and auto cars.

Post by rspi »

The center console.on the 850 is different from the auto and manual cars. The hole is smaller for the shifter boot to attach. Is this the case on the x70 P80 cars as well.

One of my viewers said they would send me an insert. My car is to messy do leave it like that long. I'm about to make a video about it so I wanted to include the info about the S/V70 cars boot. Just letting people understand the issue.

What year is your car? Looks like a '96 or '97 R.

I have a 5 speed manual shift boot from a 2000 S70. It fits perfectly on the console of a 2004 C70 automatic.

I also own a '98 V70 manual and I've replaced the console top twice with ones that came from automatics of various years.

I think it is safe to say the manual and automatic console trim are interchangeable.
Les is more.

Very nice. Did you swap in a '94 - '95 manual or '96+ transmission?
