SKF is fine for REAR.
For the Front, my SKF seal leaked after 2 years: see the Timing Belt thread, I updated info there.
So, for those reading this thread, get Corteco brand (check rmeuropean dot com or eeuroparts dot com), it is better than SKF.

I put in SKF front cam seals when I rebuilt the head on my NA 6 years ago, and they are still good. So if you already put them in there is hope ... but I agree with the latest group-think here at MVS, go with Corteco if you have a choice. People also used to have zero problems with SKF axle seals, that is no longer the case. Coreteco.

I just has some tools custom made to press these seals in. It even has a step to get them in the proper depth.
Usually not an issue with the rear cam seal, but the crank & front cam seals like to go in tight and roll the inner ID seal lip, toss the spring, and leak pretty bad. The pro's use a seal press, usually made of plastic. The ones I had made are aluminum.
You fit the seal on the tool, press the tool into the hole (use a washer and the bolt at the crank position), the tool stops when the seal is in far enough, then pull the tool back off. Fast and easy.
Really sucks pulling a timing belt back off if the seal gets damaged during installation and you have the pleasure of finding out when you start the car.

I am going to replace intake rear cam seal. When I unscrew the 10mm bolt behind distributor rotor, will it move/turn the timing gear on the front cam side ? I had read many post related to rear cam seal replacement, but no one mentioned about that.

If the timing belt is still installed, the gear will not move.
If the timing belt is off, movement is possible but unlikely. You can just move it back if it does. When the crank is on the mark, the exhaust cam moves much more easily than the intake (distributor) cam.

I didn't have a problem with the distributor, but I did turn the exhaust cam when I removed the cam position sensor. This was on a '99 with VVT though, so I'm sure that made it easier to turn. It turned back when I tightened the screw. Car started and is still running no problem, so timing wasn't affected.

No. The Elring cam seals have mixed reviews: some people swear they are crap, some swear they are fine. But for sure they are not the same as SKF or Volvo.
