940 instrument cluster kills engine?

Post by correllkp »

A while back I replaced the instument cluster to fix a malfunctioning speedometer. After driving for a while all the lights came on...stayed on for a bit then went away for about 6 months and driving everyday. When this happened the engine seemed to be ok. All the instrument lights came on again last night while my son was driving the car. Car wouldn't start...jumped it and it seemed ok. Started to drive it home and it died completely a hundred yards or so. Question, could the instrument cluster be responsible for the car dying completely?
