2001 V70 couple of electrical issues

Post by Canadian Moose »

I am trying to sort out a couple of electrical issues with my 2001 V70. First issue is driver door mirror is not working. Switch lights up green but no response from the joystick. Passenger side works fine. VIDA shows no signal to mirror. So far I tried replacing window switch with a spare. I also replaced the mirror. Neither one made any difference. I probed fuse box and there is definitely 12 volts there. Not sure where to look next. Bad ground?

Second issue is with an airbag. When I got the car I was screwing around with the driver seat because power controls weren't working. Got that fixed - cable was unplugged under the seat. Ever since that I had SRS warning on the dash. Doing a fault trace in VIDA shows driver side SIPS airbag resistance high which would lead me to believe that it thinks the airbag is unplugged. However, it is not. Clearing codes erases the fault until I restart the car at which point the warning comes back. Is there a different kind of reset that needs to be done to get the message to go away? At the same time there is also a message in VIDA about driver side seat belt buckle signal missing. Seems kinda suspicious that both of these come up at the same time.

Figured out the airbag issue. Connector under the seat has a plastic clip that slides to the side. That clip was stuck so connectors weren't seated all the way. After fixed that the SRS codes cleared successfully.

Still no dice on the mirror. I get DDM-0025 code.

Figured it out. Turned out to be broken wire in the mirror harness to DDM.
