Any suggestions for a replacement jack, that fits in the S60 trunk's spare compartment? I have a spare P80 jack, I will check and see if that does.
For in the garage I have a floor jack, but out on the road I'd rather feel better about whatever is in the trunk.

I know the scissor jack from my old 740 wouldn't fit with the spare in the trunk.erikv11 wrote: 28 Jun 2017, 12:30 Any suggestions for a replacement jack, that fits in the S60 trunk's spare compartment? I have a spare P80 jack, I will check and see if that does.

This is crazy...will have to check our V70 ('04) and my son's '07 S60 to see what the jacks look like. I don't think we've ever needed to use them.

I'm with MadeinJapan; I'm going to check out the jack in my "new" '07 V70 today. Maybe keep my eyes peeled for chocks too.
Thanks to the OP too.

Wasn't aware of 12v electric jacks. I will give 'em a look. Do they come with an assortment of saddles?
Just broke out my V70's "instrument of death" for the first time and I gotta say...I can see a novice not grasping the way the purchase point works. It raised the vehicle 4" or so easily for my demo and I HAVE to say the wheel chocks idea is a sound one.
I also must check that all 4 of the jacking points are straight and intact. I'm glad this thread got me to familiarize myself with my minimized jack.

I haven't seen electric jack options. If it's a battery, the chance that the batttery will still hold charge when I need it will be nil, given the last time I used a jack on the road. At home, it's the racing jack form Pittsburgh, light, fast, safe.

I wouldn't even think of starting repairs on a car without a floor jack. Also it's easier to work with 2 jack stands instead of only one.
And not about you, but I hope nobody here is using only the spare jack
