Being in Europe it's been cool to see a whole bunch of Turbos and Diesels everywhere. The P80s are somewhat rare around here. But i have seen a few beauties. I never liked this color, but the C70 in this color is beautiful...

Also, do we know if European P80s got different leathers for their seats? I have looked in a dozen P80s around here and NOT A SINGLE ONE had those ripped seats we have in the USA. I wanted to document this but you know, taking pictures of the inside of folks' cars is not the way to make friends...

I know there's a joke to be made here, but in all seriousness, might there be a difference?

Gorgeous indeed! There's actually a manual saffron C70 coupe for sale in Colorado right now (saw it on a Facebook page). I absolutely love the color, I think it looks awesome on these cars. I would love to import a saffron S70R one day.
Interesting that car has parking sensors too.
As for the seats, I'm pretty sure they're the same. Unless they're vinyl, which I have seen at the junkyard, and they look and feel nasty, but they don't rip. I'd almost rather have cloth. Almost...

I think that we over in Europe had alot more vinyl/fabric seats than you over in the states. Actually, most p80s I have seen so far have had vinyl/fabric interior which rarely crumples, but sometimes rips (driver's seat, outer edge) the nasty way only vinyl does. I guess that is due to the fact that car prices in Europe are ridiculously high as compared to the US. My 96 R almost cost twice as mich in Austria as you would have paid for the exact same 96 R in the US.

Also, cars here generally speaking have fewer miles which contributed to better leather, I'd say.

Btw., the few real leather p80s I have seen here usually have worn leather too, but we had way more black or dark blue interiors here which just age a bit nicer than the tan ones (which i personally prefer).

We have tan real leather and the seat bottoms are cracked to the point
that we need to do something. Any suggested seat covers or repairs?
not my primary car so I'm lazy about it.

It's actually not the cars themselves that are more expensive in Europe, it's the outlandish sales tax that our governments charge you for the privilige of buying the,pm. In my native Holland, around half of what you pay goes straight to the government, the other half to the dealer/manufacturer. But then of course a college education is practically free and so is healthcare.
Anyways, we have leather in our P80 C70 and it's also a bit dried out and surface-cracking from less-than-perfect attention over the years. I understand that an interior specialist can repaint it to look like new, so we'll probably spring for that sometime soon. No tears or rips

You left off retirement. No wonder you guys are so unhappy, spending every paycheck like tomorrow doesn't matter

You can come here and get cheap stuff, but if you get sick you lose it all.

So Volvo primarily sold leather P80 seats to American consumers and, of course, European consumers with "discerning" taste??? And they kept all the good seats to themselves? Seems like we got the short end of the stick! Clemens, you're right, almost all the P80 interiors I've seen were either cloth or some sort of vinyl. Have you seen how most of our seats are in USA? Most P80s have horrible seats, all ripped to bits...

Man abscate, way to keep stuff real... Sigh...
