Reusing Fuel Rail Bolts

Post by nogoodusername »

I'm a newb with car repairs and have a question regarding reusing bolts -- VIDA said not to reuse "screws coated with a locking fluid or self locking nuts". I pulled off the fuel pipe to do a pcv breather assembly and noticed the two flange screws (part number 982758) holding have red marking on them -- at first I thought this was thread sealant but it doesn't go all the way around the screw and is only at the very bottom. Also, it was my understanding that red sealant held very strongly which definitely wasn't the case with these. Any advise on what this is / whether I need to use new bolts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would use some blue loctite if I was concerned about them vibrating loose.
