199v70 intermotor coolant temp sensors dead in 6 mo?

looking at receipts Ive replaced sensors 4 times 6 mo apart. is this unusual and any ideas why?

Ideas:

(1) if they are cheap, aftermarket sensors, some won't even work when new.
(2) check the wiring and the connector, they aren't falling apart are they?

Hah, yes, I've had the odd DOA, but on the other hand, the warranty is never out. I just wanted to be sure-ish another issue wasnt the underlying cause. Thermostat is tested and opens fine.

It's not record breaking, we just have never had anyone replace that many that I recall.

I'm on my original.

I suspect you may have corrosion in the connector or a harness issue to run through that many. IIRC Intermotor in some cases literally takes Volvo parts and puts them in their own boxes - I know that was the case with my ignition switch. It doesn't sound like this is one of those parts however based upon the high failure rate...

What are they doing to test and verify they are bad?
