I've always wondered what that extra stud is on the manifold on my 99 and your pic with the EGR just enlightened me!!

Fix that upper engine mount stat before it ruins your radiator and engine mounts

Yes, I saw that right away. I am compiling a list for the end of the month to purchase. Looks like the previous owners enjoyed the turbo.

If the leak is on the drivers side, higher than the axle, it is likely a rear cam seal.

This is the issue exactly! The engine compartment was so gooked up with oil buildup I could not see anything. After the clean I could see the trail from the rear cam seal. So in all likelihood the PCV is blocked up.

Hate to add to the list, but if the top mount is as bad as it is, check the condition of the lower torque mount, in particular the smaller rear bush as it has been working over time. Also check the crank pullet engine mount. Place a floor jack with a piece of wood between the oil pan and the jack and gently jack the RH end of the engine. Have the RH wheel off and the plastic inner fender liner pulled back at the front. When they go bad and you jack the engine gently you will see the rubber portion and the metal base plate will separate.
