For the elders on here.... as Red Buttons used to say: "I never got a dinner...." I propose if it works its the "Pre-cuhfs" or "Cuhfster" method (Hey - "Gibbons" got the trans flush method named for him...).

If it does not work... it can be the "Abscate method".

Precuhfs has a ring to it.

I always thought that the Gibbons method involved the use of a small primate or was that something I saw in Bruce Almighty :D

Looking at pictures, the new hole is so close to the drain hole, it makes me wonder if the same mod (punching mesh in filter) is possible with the flexible snake tool through the drain?

I will check what configuration would be needed (and possibility of success) from observation of the bench transmission later. that said, off the top of my head, I think not due to required hard jog right to hit the screen.

Don't know if I could have thrust that kebab skewer with as much gusto through the drain hole but certainly worth a try for anyone out there. One issue is potential damage to the thread.

In my case I had an 8mm hole for thrusting which was later increased to 10.4mm for M12 thread creation. If I were to do it again I may choose a finer thread pitch and a larger hole as the bell housing isn't exactly thick right there;; perhaps 4mm.
