1994 850 Replacing heater core, iron pipes vs Al Topic is solved

Hello, I was reading on site replacing heatercore,. My volvo is a 1994 wagon850, I have purchased the new core and coupler, before I take on the task, is my baby so old that she has iron pipes? ,I read best to replace with aluminum heatercore pipes.Im doubting that they are, hes probably referring to the early 80 type models, correct?

Im pretty sure all 850s use the Al pipe system in the heater core - you could also go the Volvo Parts Lisle website and punch in your year and model to check part numbers

Our early build 1995 850 had iron pipes. Changed them over to aluminium during its first heater core transplant. I wrote up the transplant here on MVS a few years back.

I think most 1994s had iron.

Ok Thanks guys,it's been awhile but I've ordered and have all parts including the new coupler these seem to be when I ordered them the parts looked to be for the aluminum pipes,will these parts still work on the iron pipes? I looked under my carpet and found they Are Iron pipes.
