Engine bay reference photos

Post by prwood »

I think it would be interesting and potentially useful if forum members could take and share photos of their P2 Volvo engine bay. In particular, I would love to see how cables, hoses, and the like are routed on other folks engines as a sanity check for the times when I put my engine back together and things don't seem right. If you're using a smartphone camera, be sure to give your lens a quick wipe before taking the shot... greasy DIYer hands can lead to blurry photos.

Alternatively, if you can't share a photo of your own engine bay, you could post images or links to images of other P2 engine bays that are clear enough to see where things are routed.

Here's the best full shot of my engine bay that I currently have available, from this summer just before I did the PCV system replacement... the cooling fan and charge air pipe are removed since I had already started disassembling things.

Were is the air intake in this engine? I see a pipe going to the manifold, but I see no pipe going to the air filter box

Look to the right. From the box and down behind the engine to the turbo.

Whoops, I had also removed the air intake pipe at that point. I had removed everything from in front of the intake manifold to make it easier to remove when doing the PCV job.

Got it. Asked because I've read somewhere some models had an intake air pipe opening somewhere lower into the bumper
