Checking out a 2005 V70 Base

Going to investigate a 2005 V70. One owner vehicle with maintenance records. Anything in particular I should focus my attention on?

I am sort of familiar with the basics: PCV, timing belt, water pump, serp. belt, etc. Any specific quirks to this model year I should be on the alert for?

I've read lots of discussion about transmission issues and the importance of fluid changes. I am suspecting it has had none.

Replacing worn out suspension/steering components can be a costly undertaking but also a great negotiating tool.

It's a solid trans in 2005

There is a TSB for water incursion into the CEM via driver side of dash. I'll try to get info for you.

My 2005 NA is a dreamie, 30 mpg+ ride

Ball joints are replaceable , no more control arms.

I think that got a new CANBUS that was improved over earlier models.

Pulled the trigger. 2006 V70 2.4 auto, 130k miles. Very sweet driving. Almost sucked the glove into the crankcase on my PCV test. Not more thanks 5k miles between oil changes and mostly 3k. Dipstick was very clean. Trans fluid was a clear light brown. Not black and burnt smelling. Accelerates smartly (or as smartly as a 2.4 auto will). Shifts smoothly. Body and interior nice, but will benefit from some Lysol wipes/Magic Eraser treatment.

Willow green metallic (confirmed, paint code 471-- looks almost like silver but appears to have a slight greenish cast) w/ taupe - beige leather interior. Faux wood accents. Sunroof, roof rack, alloy wheels, third seat, leather (front seats are beat), working A/C and heat. No rattles or squeaks. Tires new last year. Two year old battery. Priced attractively.

Drives like on rails on I-80 at 80 mph.
