So, we assumed that old guide pin was already out ? Then we use tap to clean up the thread ?

Correct, except we don't assume that old guide pin is out. The old guide pin is out when you do follow and chase. When your finished with that, you can do your stalking without hindrance.

One more tip, soak it good with liquid wrench and use a left hand drill bit. You might get lucky and the broken part will back out as the left hand drill bit bites. That how I got a broken head bolt out of a Volvo 2.9.

While the guide pin is not strictly necessary, it makes reinstalling your wheel a real hassle. I know because I have a broken pin.

Someday, I will get the sheared off pin out of the hub. In the meantime, a guy at my local tire store gave me a little aluminum tool that is basically a rod with the appropriate threads on one end. You screw this into any lug hole after aligning things, install the wheel and remaining lugs, then remove the tool and replace the last lug. Easy peasy.

If you can't get this special tool, just get a long bolt with the correct threads and cut the head off. It will function in the same manner. You could bring one lug from your car into your local hardware store and match up the size and threads to something at the store.

IPD sells the one in the link below for the P2 and P3 cars (and used to sell one for the 850s as well), a little steep and a bolt may work as well.

I have a similar guide pin for my BMW. BMW has no guide pin and this tool make it easy to put back the alloy wheels.

Yup. Looks very similar to that, but mine is aluminum alloy. The key bit of info from the IPD listing is the thread:

M14 X 1.5 THREAD PITCH

Now, we know what size bolt to buy and grind the head off of.

This will cost a bit more if you buy it in stainless but then cutting the head off will be easy. Chase the thread with a nut when done, then tape the end with car colour matching tape
