What is care by volvoVolvo is quickly becoming one of, if not the, auto manufacturer pushing the entire car industry into the future. First, their 2009 announcement that, starting in 2015, they would focus exclusively on efficient, turboed 4 cylinder engines (or smaller) across their entire fleet.
Then, in summer 2017, they announced their plan to make every car in their lineup a hybrid or fully electric by 2019 – the biggest step towards electrification any major auto manufacturer has made thus far.
Now, with Care by Volvo, they’re changing the industry once more, announcing the first nationwide subscription car service. For many of us, this probably means saying goodbye to car ownership entirely.

I'd guess 95% of us here wouldn't touch this with a 10-foot pole.
I wouldn't, not when I can buy the car (traditional) for $36k, and this Care by Volvo outlay is $16k.
Anyone on the Care by Volvo side of things?

Nope. But I have colleagues who are the right target group. They make enough money and they don't care about owning. So there's probably a market.
In Sweden Volvo is the co-owner of a car sharing company so you get access to vans and other larger cars if you need to within the same program.

I'll buy them once Volvo has decided they are no longer fit for lease because they have x years or x miles on them.
I too have some colleagues who would very likely go for this program. If only Volvo gave referral incentives... I could make a small fortune!
I guess for now I'll have to stick to mining Ether for extra income:

Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

1998 V70 2.4 NA -- ~184k miles

Not for me - years ago in my father's time in UK we were adverse to debt and credit cards (just another name) and most people had very little disposable income, indeed most didn't have bank a/c s or a telephone or washing machine, let alone a car. It was termed here "living on the never, never". Well that is how I see this scheme Deely is just extending its' interest into another form of "business". Incidentally, I am all for hybrids ah-la-Volvo but not fully autonomous system (driverless) systems. Japan is very close to these now. Have you ever driven a car which auto steers or auto brakes? Remember back when you had driving lessons, did the instructor ever dual brake you? They did that not only to keep you safe, but because you committed an error to underline the point. It was scary: it was meant to underline that you were not as in-control as you thought you were. l like lane departure control and BLISS etc but the other is a step too far.
