I'm just recovering from the shock of the estimate I got from my local Volvo dealer for repairs on my S60 with 132,000km. I decided that I can get my hands dirty and save some money by doing some of the work myself, since the parts seem cheap. Can anyone help me with the following?
Q1. Can the front control arm bushing be replaced with the control arm in place, or does it have to be removed from the car? Is a hydraulic press required to remove the old bushing and to push in the new one?
Q2. Does the drive shaft have to be removed to replace the CV boot? If so,how much work is involved?
Q3. What is involved in replacing a rear shock absorber? What shocks would you recommend?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
