A mid-size luxury crossover SUV, the Volvo XC90 made its debut in 2002 at the Detroit Motor Show. Recognized for its safety, practicality, and comfort, the XC90 is a popular vehicle around the world. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America). P2 platform.
Hi gang, I'm back on MVS. Spent the last two years fighting stage IV cancer, and had to hang up my wrenches unfortunately. I broke a rib turning a wrench on an Audi and it turned out to be prostate cancer that had spread. That was two years ago but I'm still here.
Good news is I still have my wits about me and can offer advice, AND the wife and I just bought a swell new 2017 XC90 T6 Incription.
It's the best Volvo I've ever owned, hands down.
Glad to be back.
Looking for a V90 to be my next Volvo, at the very least a T5.
2017 XC90 Inscription - My best Volvo by far, but Ex-wife departed & I had to sell.
2001 S80 T6 - rebuilt trans, head gasket, fixed & sold
1997 V70 - kid car, sold
1996 850 GLT - found under bridge, 2 year refurb project, commuter car, kid car, T-Boned - SIPS saved passenger. Totaled.
1997 VW GTI VR6 - exceedingly fast.
1971 VW Type II/231 - it was pointed out by management that the children would be killed in it.
Oly 850: Glad to hear that your health problems are under control. Best wishes and prayers.
As to the 2017 that looks like my wife's ride, but hers is black.
Couple items - the car likes to eat tires. I have had mine rotated every 5k when I do an oil change. I pay the extra. Each time tires are rotated you can hear road noise showing strange wear. We are at about 25k on our rig and I figure 30k is it for the original tires.
Next the bolsters love to get dirty. You need to stay on top of this.
I agree the new Xc90 is a great ride and has been pretty easy to own so far.
Now for the 2004 XC90 that has been a nightmare the last 5k. Tranny, front and rear diff being replaced.
Good advice on the tires thank you. Mine has Pirelli 275/35 R22's, the 22" rims look cool but I would have preferred smaller rims and tires with more sidewall. New rubber for this thing is like $320 per wheel, ugh.
There is a 40 series tire size that is more common that might be worth a try but I doubt the car would like it without a trip to the dealership to reprogram things.

Welcome back to MVS and stay healthy. I love the new XC90, it's gorgeous and Volvo really stepped there game up a few notches with the XC90's new platform. Actually all of there new vehicles are top notch, quite an impressive line-UP. I see you owned a 1996 Volvo 850GLT at one point. We owned a 1996 Volvo 850GLT and that was the Volvo that hooked us on these vehicles. What a great car, it was very comfortable , had all the bells/whistles, latest safety equipment. I probably put 300,000 mules on her before an exhaust value went. Since that Volvo I bought my wife a 2004 XC70, myself a '98 V70XC, 2000 V70XCSE & another '98 V70XC with under 100k on odometer. Enjoy your XC90! !
If U Wanna Play U Gotta Pay!!
