Fuel Door Hinge Replace

2012 Volvo S80 T6 AWD
The fuel door did not close properly due to icing. Swung open in garage, my oldest son walked past it and broke off the door at the hinge. It ended up being a very easy fix. Go to IPD and ordered $20 replacement unit. The metal cover plate plate slides out from the old unit. The inner unit requires removal of only one screw. Used razor blade knife to cut soft rubber around filler pipe. Then gently but firmly pulled old assembly out starting with the latch side. (opposite of hinge) It came out with no damage to latch release assembly. Cleaned out the metal lip the unit snapped into it. Then used silicon glue around perimeter and snapped the new unit in. Had to work rubber around fuel pipe but it was easy enough to push over. The latch unit slipped right in.
