I think that's it.

Been experiencing random misfires/stalling, car restarts each time.

An afternoon of maintenance on the electrical connectors might pay immediate dividends.

I'm not one to usually "throw parts" at a car, but I have minimal records from prior owner so not sure when parts were replaced. I've owned the car 4 years, put about 23k miles on it so far, and mileage is at 213k so I figured it may be due for the basic tune up items.

Been experiencing random misfires/stalling, car restarts each time. No codes. I've replaced spark plugs, but not rotor, cap or spark plug wires. Believe the spark plug wires are the originals as car is a '94 and wires marked "'93-43."
With that mileage and spotty maintenance history it’s a great idea to replace the cap, rotor, and wires on top of the plugs you already did. I’d do it whether or not the car was missing.

If it’s missing when cold and at lower RPM I’d move to a Seafoam treatment on the intake sucked through a vacuum hose after the cap and wires are done. If it’s missing hot at higher RPM/WOT then you’ll probably get it taken care of with the cap and wires

OK yeah, then I'd definitely replace cap, rotor and wires. Good call! Especially those wires. Very likely to address the problem, perhaps even completely.

My "new" Bosch cap looked like that when I bought it (maybe marginally better). Supplier said it was cosmetic and didn't matter. Indeed it doesn't matter, as it fixed my misfire when cold and humid. That one should work just find if all the contacts look good.

Technically it does not matter but your suppose to get a discount for accepting something picky people won't accept, that does matter. I would not buy from him again, he is pocketing your discount.

I had misfires when i got my v70. Spark plugs fixed a lot but not all. The new rotor and cap fixed almost all except a slight one at idle while in gear. The newer (used) coil fixed the rest. Try those. And the distributor, could it be wear from being upside down in the box?

Not sure anyone has clearly answered your question "Return or Install?"

Install. Unless it bothers you so much that you're likely to have nightmares about pulling that spark plug wire off to find interdimensional lifeforms ooozing through those little pores in an attempt to exterminate all of humanity through your Volvo. In that case... install it. You'll need the car to make your doctor appointments.

Snarky humor... Somewhat in line with the good old days before datalounge put up a paywall. They were a magnet for snarky brutal humor types. Sometimes with hundreds of hilarious replies to topics like "J.Lo wasn't nominated for any awards at the Oscars, her cameltoe looked angry. See link". Closest thing now, Reddit, flags/boots anyone who posts anything that might be interpreted as 'mean' toward anyone or anything. Basically, if it's actually funny you risk getting banned. Bill Maher has been complaining about this.. millennials having trouble differentiating between a joke/sense of humor and genuinely malicious intent.
