I have had a code running for at least three years or more and it keeps the "check engine" light on . It's code PO 72 Ambient temperature sensor" There is a temp sensor mounted on the underside of both the driver's side and passenger side mirrors and i have replaced both of those sensors with new dealership parts, removed the door panel and connected them and it had no effect on the code. If I erase the code, it comes back on in 60 seconds . The term "ambient" to me means the air surrounding the car , the outside temp. That being said , the dashboard temp is accurate. Is there something measuring the air temp entering the filter box that sends up this code ?
Also has a very inaccurate gas gauge in spite of replacing both floats in the tank
PO 72 code for years
