1994 850 Heater Blower Motor Change

Post by Ed3349 »

Blower motor was dying and the fan would stop. When I hit the fan lightly with a screwdriver it would kick on but I want to replace the motor before any other damage is done. Just one question?????? I see there are some wires for the airbag under there and I don't want to deploy it. Do I need to disconnect the battery for this job or is the air bag going to be fine through the change out? Any info is appreciated!!

The only thing that gets unplugged is the fan. The other wires that hang on the fan housing are just unclipped. The wires at 11:00 o'clock slide up and off the clip.
Haynes wants you to disconnect the battery when you change a lightbulb. I never bother. If you do not turn the car on while wires are plugged, there should not be any problems.
