I need to order new OEM rotors and pads and would like to know some of the best vendor choices regarding pricing so I don't have to pay out the nose at the dealer.
Thanks a million.
Need new OEM rotors and pads for 02 XC70 Who has best price?

Try www.fcpgroton.com or eeuroparts.com If you buy enough the second vendor offers free shipping. I would stay with Brembo or Zimmerman rotors (stock OEM) and avoid other 3rd party ones. You might also find good deals on these on eBay. Also, stick with the OEM pads (Volvo brand). I know others have had good luck with other brands but many have had bad squeaking issues with them. Make sure to buy the backing grease when you buy the pads. The Volvo grease does a great job of keeping squeaks away.

I second fcp groton, but I respectively disagree with MadeInJapan about aftermarket pads & squealing.
In my mind the only reason to go with oem is if you like their immediate bite. If that is not a big deal, I suggest you try akebono euro's. They will bring you to a stop plenty quick if you need to, but will not dust like the oems or eat your rotors up as fast. They have anti-squeal plates on the pads and you can add additional anti-squeal to the backing if you're so inclined. I haven't heard a peep out of mine since they were installed. And the wheels are so clean that I'm having a hard time believing they are there! Only mistake I made was not installing them on the day I picked the car up.
FWIW, Ackebono do a lot of Japanese oem and remind me of the feel of the brakes on my old Accord.

PlainV70, thanks for your post. As I stated, "I know others have had good luck with other brands but many have had bad squeaking issues with them," this doesn't mean that all after market are bad. I'm sure that those who have had issue did not use yours. Now I know that when I replace our '04 V70's pads, I know which ones to look at besides the OEM. Once again, I appreciate your post. As I did not know which ones were decent, I had no choice but to recommend the OEM.

I asked for OEM because I have had great performance from them. My 02 V70XC has 171K on original rotors and I have only changed pads once and they still have 50% life left. I personally don't want to experiment to find out which aftermarket ones are good or not. I completed the job yesterday with OEM from eeuroparts.com - Why mess with a good thing! Thanks MIJ
