S70 Turbo: Returning Airbox to Stock Questions?

I have a spare MAF for my car and can measure the Oring. I think the 99 air box is the same as the 98?

It appears that 1994 to 1998 used the same MAF. 1999+ models had a different MAF. The housings do look a bit different, but can't tell if the coupling is in fact a different size. Worth a shot, thanks.

Only hit I've got for a part number is 1389108 which is an O-ring that installs on the MAF, but from the diagrams, it is very hard to tell whether it is the part I'm looking for. Volvo dealer 1.5 hours away says they can have it Wednesday for $11, but I'm not convinced it is the correct o-ring.

I just measured the O ring on a 98: it is 70 mm ID, and 5.5 mm thickness.

Looking at tat part it fits under the electrical connector on the MAF from the drawing. It is not a large diameter 'O' ring that fits in the hole in the air-box where the MAF attaches.

I have even pulled the old hard copy parts listing and there is no 'O' ring listed that I can find.

If the ID is 70mm the OD is 70 + (2 x 5.5mm) = 81mm if my math is right!

You are a saint. That's the closest we've gotten to the right o-ring all day. How much searching did it take to find that diagram? Thanks for the pictures, now I actually have some idea of what this is suppose to look like.

Sounds like the 98 and 99 airbox is not the same. If a 98 o-ring is 70mm inside diameter, then that's 10mm of stretch just to get it on the MAF housing. Doesn't sound right. Guessing the MAF housing on 98 is a bit smaller diameter.

I just put the calipers on a 98 MAF and it is 70 mm OD, so yes the air box hole it fits into (with the o-ring installed) is probably 80 mm ID. I'm all done measuring though!

I do appreciate all the measurements. Now I know my plan to buy the o-ring for a 99 won't work. Going to hit up the local hardware and plumbing stores tomorrow and see if they have anything comparable to a stock o-ring. Unfortunately, all the local salvage yards only have 1999+ Volvos in their inventory.
