How much weight do you load up your wagons with?

As the title states.

The wife's 855 is going to get it's engine swapped (Slight HG leak and engine getting tired at 275K miles). The replacement is sitting on a skid weighing just about 325#.
The plan was to drive the wagon to work and just load it up in the back to get it home. I would think it should be OK, as I bet many get loaded down with MUCH more weight (passengers and cargo).

Removing it will just involve the engine hoist.

I have read many reports of people transporting replacement engines in the back of a P80 wagon.

Rated load is something like 400 kg excluding driver over here
so you'll be fine.

I've fitted my P2 with reinforced rear springs to keep it level when loaded to the limit and with bikes on the hitch. It's a great upgrade both for looks (doesn't look like you're carrying too much) and handling

What you may want to consider is that the trunk floor is not actually the floor but some plywood and carpet. So you might need to add some additional plywood or such to prevent a point load going right through the floor.

wcm and I celebrate harvesting used engine oil with ice cream sundaes - we are way heavier than a steenking Volvo engine.

While I agree that it's something to keep in mind and easy to do something about it's not that thin and I think the wood floor might actually take a point load better than the sheet metal beneath it.

The engine is on a skid, so no worries there.
