850 Center console between seats

Does anyone know how to remove and take apart the center console between the front seats in a '96 850? I removed the small plastic piece under the emer. brake handle but other than that, I can't get anything to budge and fear breaking something. The reason I want to take it apart is because over the years passengers have spilled soda on it and the sticky residue in the cracks is acting as a magnet to all dust, crumbs and particles that touch it. It's in desperate need of a cleaning. Help please.
