850 Manual Shifter feels like it is catching

Hi, have a 1995 850 5 spd manual. The shifter stem feels like catches on something when shifting gears...kinda of like there is a channel the stem is not quite aligned with. It feels like it is right there at the stem...underneath the boot. Anyone have any suggestions as to what migh be causing this...or is this normal?

The bushings on the cable mounts (at the transmission) tend to wear out and it causes the shifter to be vague and it can cause it to catch. They aren't horribly expensive for the OEMs and I think IPD has a beefed up set. I think Robert has a video on changing them out.

Part 9176272 is the shift cables, 2 pieces required but you can get the bushings on eBay much cheaper
