Fuel pump unit

Is this crack going to be a problem (or is it just a housing for the tube)?

I'd guess that corrosion is the cause of that crack.

I don't know. I was thinking that the guy who took it off was struggling with the hose fastener that goes on there and cracked it.

Is it normal for corrosion to cause a crack like that?

Actually, here's a better picture. it does look like corrosion in there...

I have no idea what I am looking at, but if that is a return line, you might get by with it.

There are bulkhead connectors for fuel lines, but again, I know nothing about this setup.

If a return line, maybe a new pipe with expoxy...or appropriate sealer.

This is a picture of the main pressure line from the fuel pump. The top of the fuel pump/sending unit assembly...(In the trunk)

I use to drive on 401 to Montreal...nice highway, at least in 1990s

If road salts are used in winter, this might explain what happened. If the tube feels firm with mild pressure, I would not be concerned.

I don't see how this connects, but it might be possible to replace this tubing. Keep in mind fuel pressure can rise above 40psi, and can hit around 100psi when return line is blocked...I've done this before on a test with a 245 Volvo.

Maybe lightly clean it off, and put a sealer around it.
