driver door lock replacement

anyone know of a write up for replacing the driver door keyed lock?

I'm swapping complete doors and need the new door lock to match my ignition key. does the whole handle/mechanism need to be swapped or is there a way to just switch the lock core (which I know you can do on old Volvos from the 90s)?

You can replace the door lock tumbler.
I wrote a few tricks in the "Actuator replacement DIY" about 5-6 years ago...

Not finding that topic, but I'll look harder.

I assume this requires a key to remove the tumbler?

- Try this video. Look carefully in the video, you will see two (2) Torx screws holding the exterior tumbler assembly.
