I need pricing help for a 2001 XC70

Post by KmS »

I need pricing help for a 2001 XC70. Here is a rough of the ad without photos. The guidelines say I am supposed to ask for pricing help here before posting, so I am asking all you Volvo Buffs to help me. Many thanks to all you do, this site is amazing. I found a 2007 XC70 to replace this one and am very happy. Would there be any parts to salvage from the 2001 for it?

Selling my beloved 2001 Volvo V70 XC AWD, 174,000 mi., $1000??, Bristol, VA.

The car is in fair-good shape. Wear and tear shows on front passenger seat, lining around hand brake, a few stains on backseat at doors. Scattered hail pings on hood and roof. A scrape on front right fender trim from a close encounter with a post. Seals around windows and doors are breaking down. No Accidents!

Platinum Green Met (looks blue to me); Beige/Light Sand Interior, wood trim inlays, leather seats and steering wheel (very good condition).

CD/Cassette sound system! All air/lights/sunroof/vents/controls work, heated seats, etc. Cold weather package, power passenger seat w/lumbar support, auto-dimming mirror, power sunroof, cargo protection security cover, power mirrors, Winter Mode trans option.

Brakes good (new at 149k). New battery installed 9-12-17 (6 year warranty). Timing Belt, etc. replaced at 168k. New rear shocks and springs (Volvo parts). 2.4L L5 Turbo engine, 20 mpg. av.

I am the second owner, took over at 90k. It's had regular maintenance with all recommendations, and I have the service records. But alas, the tranny is going. A transmission shop owner said he could fix it by replacing a Servo cap. Dealer just says "Failure." I'm not going there. This Volvo XC70 will help somebody!

I think your $1000is perfect...you are looking for a Volvo savvy’s person who isn’t afraid to tackle a transmission servo, so that will take time to find

+1000 points for reading And following forum rules, too!

No, your first number was what I'd think. Unless the VA region values used Volvos higher or lower than the average.

I paid 2k for driveable 04 v70 175kmiles.
I wouldn't pay more than 500 for anything that doesn't drive properly.
If its non driveable I'm not interested in starting my own junkyard but there's always someone willing to buy anything.

Yeah but New Englanders are notoriously cheap - Ive heard some of you re-use engine oil.
