Hello there people,
I have a 96 850 non turbo that starts hard after its been warmed up. It will fire rite up when cold. After its warmed up it will crank for 3-5 seconds before it will start. I put in new plugs but it didn't make much of a difference. it has plenty of power and doesn't skip a beat once its running. I was thinking maybe a cam sensor was going bad. I was thinking it has to be some sort of sensor that the computer is waiting feedback from before it either gives a spark or fires the injectors in closed loop operation. I haven't had time to really check it out yet. but I plan on checking for spark for the first few seconds of cranking. if I'm not getting spark for the first few seconds then i was thinking it would be a crank or cam sensor not generating enough voltage when hot to send to the computer to read. any info would be appreciated, Tom D.

You may be on the right track, but maybe not...see if your car has thrown any codes (the check engine light on the dash doesn't have to light up for this).
