2004 xc70 front struts

I was wondering if anybody can tell me how the XC70 has a higher ride height than the regular V70. Are the struts longer or something else with the suspension? I would like to lower my XC70 so that it has the same ride height as the regular V70 and I was hoping to swap out the struts. Can somebody please tell me if this makes sense or is there an easier way?

The struts are different yes. What else is someone else will have to fill in.

The front struts are different. Not sure on the springs. The rest of the assembly should be the same (spring seat, boot, bearing). I don't recall on the rear, shock and spring.

Maybe do a part number search on a same year XC and V regarding the suspension front and back. You need to also confirm the knuckle is the same in front, and the piece the rear shock attaches to in the back is the same. Other than that the chassis should be identical and that is the top point - you are looking for changes in part numbers below it.

You can call the tech line at FCP or IPD.
v70 has different size balljoint.
Control arm in v70 is alum,
I think the XC is steel.

So..on my 1998 Volvo AWD wagon sitting next to a standard Volvo V70, wagon my AWD sat about an 1" higher different springs
