Thanks "abscate" for that humor. I needed some good car humor this morning.
I am working on as I write this, getting a rebuilt alternator locally by a shop that may include
the pulley with it. We will see. Buying a new pulley runs another $55 or so it would seem.
OK, I think I am making some progress. Just ordered at lunch break a quality re-built alternator that actually has a new pulley already on it. So am I correct in assuming that I won't need that special tool now? Perhaps this skinny, lightweight can now attempt to pull and replace.

Greta idea, thank you for that. You got my juices flowing upstairs. I am going to Home Depot at lunch break today to buy that 1/2" to 3/4" adapter for my breaker bar I have at home. That should do it!
