95 960 alarm problem
I have a 95 960 and I noticed that one night when locking it with my remote that the red light on the dash did not light up or flash. The locks as well as the alarm work. The alarm was activated and after deactivating the led light did come on and stay on as it does when the alarm is set off. everything is working as it should exept for the warning light. I have read and tried to research and have not found anything similer to whats happening to me. I was told to make sure the alarm contact were clean but i dont even know where or what those are. I am new to volvo and any help would be awesome.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
Different alarms are fitted to Volvo cars depending on the specification. However, they all work in the same way.
The contacts you have been told about are the 4 switches that operate the courtesy lights when the doors are open, a contact switch mounted near the left hand hood catch and, depending on the alarm model, a contact switch for the tailgate or trunk lid.
On the '94 960 the hood switch is a magnetic type with one part near the hood catch and the other part on the hood. I mention this as sometimes there is a 'carry-over' between different year models.
If the courtesy lights work when each door is opened in turn then check the other switches mentioned. Usually it is the hood switch that causes problems.
Bill.
