We are in "winter" now, it's 9:00 AM and outside is 23*C, never gets real cold here.

Regarding oil a straight SAE40 is actually on the list of approved oils for 10 degrees C and up in the Swedish instruction booklet for cars before the face-lift. I'd still use a synthetic personally though.

Hi Guys n Gals

OK, so today was like this: after comments here I checked with our oil supplier, we have "semi synthetic" oil that we use on the gens, formulated to protect the turbo seals, (we had a CAT that used to leak from the turbo, after oil change, leak gone) so OK there, should be fine for the engine. I went to my buddy Rob and fitted 4 new tires, AOTELI 215's, fantastic ride, very smooth, I'm not going to race or go off road, so these are fine. Liqui Moly stock arrived, ran the engine and pumped the DEX III out of the PS system with a DEX III 500mL follower to clean out, put in new LM fluid, WOW! what a difference, steering is light and easy, all sorted there, I adjusted the door locks (hasps?) to get the doors to line up, the passenger rear right hasp was loose, got that sorted as well, now the rest of it has to be done (autobox, Haldex, bevel boxes), Sean will do the bushes on the suspension next week and then I will do the gearbox oil and the brakes to Dot 5 fluid., tomorrow morning drain the cooling system which was filled with plain water

and refill with LM coolant to Volvo spec.

Then back to Rob to do the wheel alignment when Sean is done, then I think I can attempt a roadworthy

Do NOT use DOT 5 brake fluid. It's silicone based rather than as the 4 and 4+ glycol based. Stick to 4, it's more than good enough for regular driving.

MDK here... thought maybe my throttle body Assy was dirty.... rough idle... decided to change plugs on my 04 R. As it turns out someone before me had installed autolites but didn't torque them. I barely turned them and they popped loose.!! I used the NGK double platinums, put it all back together and went for a test drive. Nice and smooth and more power...uh huh yep....
