About the engine internals: Volvospeed is eerily quiet these days but the long-time posters over there will know exact and correct answers about this stuff, if you can pry it out of them and put up with the guff. You don't want book knowledge here (someone looking up engine numbers on the internet), you want to communicate with people who have done and seen dozens of swaps and rebuilds.

Eeeek i stay clear of VS, i'm just going to assume V70 lpt 2.4L parts will work on the V70Rs hpt 2.4L. However I do know a guy in my hometown that has a inde volvo shop and builds R engins, only problem is hes been away for quite awhile.

In a perfect world you would scare up a manual transmission turbo ECU. Without it you will have a constant CEL since the automatic ECU will not be able to communicate with the TCU (it gets removed). I think that Lucky has the manual software and he can re-flash your ECU to be a manual transmission version. The shifting is a lot easier with the manual ECU since it alters the throttle response (engine wind down slope) when you let off the accelerator. If you give him all of the specs of the build he can do a very nice tune.

There is a EURO 95 R ECU ROM that can be used for both auto and manuals and without CEL come on. Only down size is the OBDII port doesn't work. Oh, no holding RPM during shift either.

Really? I'm interested, does it work on M4.3? hmm does it still shift smooth with no REV hold or is it back to feeling like a 70s truck transmission. Lol I removed the check engine light and I've only used the OBD I port, gives way more info, plus my car is excempt from emissions in my state.

Guess I can, sense I posted that I learned quite abit on VolvoSpeed. Had a M44 ECU laying around and with the right values the car runs amazingly now! I can shift so much faster now without the revs holding when i put the clutch in. I still have quite a lot to learn to even think about touching boost maps lol
