Yes Misha...MDK here. Amazingly enough.the, hood, headlights, even all the doors are the same. And if you look closely at the rear hinges on the hood there are 2 tabs that you can pull down... one on each side..
And the hood will lift up vertically!! Little tricky but once you see it. Ah ... wish they would bring that design feature back... rolling on

thank you; logically I assumed so, but wondered. I love my 850 champagne gold color, but the hood needs to be replaced. a deer jumped on it in 2010, and I bought a new one. the company who ordered it and painted it didn't match the color well, and I've always hated it, but no recourse. anyway, now it's got a little rust, and I think I'd do better starting over. I found a paint shop who was recommended, and they want $700 to fix paint and rust, but I saw a gold 850 sedan for sale at $1500 and am thinking of buying it for backup or whatever, lower mileage than mine. however, I'm not sure of it, as I only saw it on line, and I'm about 1K miles away from the dealer, who had mixed reviews, so include in the price a plane fare!! :o

Sorry fzdesign...got my wires crossed. Thought you were misha... oops anyway. Doesn't seem feasible to me...alot of trouble for just a hood. Have you tried Volvo Saab dismantlers? They are in California as you are. Here in Ohio I paid only a hundred dollars for a hood. I to travel a hundred miles away but I needed a white one for my 99 s70 glt... take a good look around... MDK .. rolling on

well, it was more than just the hood; it's very hard to find that color, and I would love to have another vehicle that is as much fun as my wagon so I have all kinds of backups....., but mostly a car just like it. the dealer didn't contact me, so it's probably sold. hope springs eternal.

I too have had trouble finding parts for my color. The last 2 yards I visited had ads up with pictures but when I got there, they told me the cars were crushed 2 weeks prior. I wish they would update their ads more often or at least take down the ones that are gone.
