I'm seriously considering a 2004 XC70 but the only snag is that the oil dipstick has an unusual brown coating just above the oil level. It's a CPO vehicle with no previous issues and the deal let me have it for the weekend. Drives great....but the dipstick thing has me puzzled. Is this normal for Volvo's???
Thanks in advance, jcoors.

Probably condensation. It needs to be driven hard/hot to get rid of it. It's fairly normal for cars that are only driven short distances at a time, not giving the engine time to reach a good heat range to burn out the condensation.
