Nothing like VIDA but it does pull "real" Volvo nomenclature codes. I have no idea if it reads pending codes.

Does this mean I need to go to the dealer to somehow re-check the "base setting" of the timing belt? Not sure what that involves.
The timing belt was changed out at 113k miles and the car now has 146k on her. I just bought it a few weeks back so i find it hard to believe the previous owner let this go that long.

"incorrect base setting" would be preloading the VTT and making sure the VTT does not move when the timing belt is installed . Correcting the VTT preload can be done DIY.

Check the wiring to the VTT before you whip out your wallet.

You would be surprised how many people will let things go as long as the car is drivable or when they know they are going to sell the car soon ... "pass that expense on to the next owner".

Can you help me with a link for doing this myself? I a willing to attempt it but need

VVT = Variable Valve Timing.
