Delta Link tool broke again - where to buy the next?

Post by matthew1 »

Here?

Anyone have a better source?

I'm applying the entropy fee bucket (7*$10) toward the new tool, and the current loanee is covering the rest.

This happens. It's no big deal. That's what the entropy fee is for.

Fortunately, this time, the loanee is being VERY gracious with me on emails on how to get this resolved. Of course I'm not naming him unless he wants to name himself by chiming in on this topic.

Also: any ideas on what materials to provide both physically (printouts sent with the tool) and online URLs on how to not break the delta link tool?

I haven't done the delta link replacement and don't have an idea of what actions are stressing it beyond its design.

Matt,
Can I weld it up and build a stronger one as well?

JD,

"Well, it's not a matter of welding. The brass insert is stripped out, the threads on the main rod are equally stripped and the roll pins that hold it all together have sheared off. I'll send you a photo when my camera battery charges back up."

That's the message I just now got. Still want it?

Hi Matthew,
From first hand experience lack of lube and heat on the delta link will damage the tool. I have a delta link tool that has a bent screw shaft. Will send it out to another member who can repair/replace the shaft.
I have a second tool that members can use until MV gets a replacement.

Matt ,
Yes !!
The more damage, the better (more to improve on). I'm looking forward to the picture.
