Car Inspection Fail: gas tank pressure test fail

Hi all,

At the end of this month I need to register my 95 850.

It was checked recently and I did not pass the gas tank pressure test during inspection.

How would you go about diagnosing where the leak is?

Is there a known spot where 850s develop a leak like this?

The known spots are the J hose and L hose, or their equivalents on your 1995, at the evaporator container in the driver front fender.

Gas cap is the other one to check.

There was a recall to replace the gas tank on 850's due to cracks around the heat shield near the muffler. Was the recall ever done on your car?

It was due to "expire" a few years ago but I think they extended it.

They replaced the tank on my '94 at no charge and gave us a S60 to drive for a couple of days as a loaner.
