What does this mean? The mechanic may be part of the problem here. Just unplug the MAF and drive around all weekend.Seankevinorourke wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 17:00 I’m having the new maf retested Monday as it was installed by my mechanic after running full diagnostics . ...

It means I am having my mechanic look to see if the new maf is faulty. I’ve had good luck with him so far and would rather give him the benefit of the doubt before I start accusing him of anything. I ordered a Bosch TPS as the new one I put on was a cheap one. Hopefully that’s it.

I don't mean to harass you but my point is something like this: If the mechanic put a Bremi MAF in a Volvo, then he is not familiar with fixing these cars and you have just had bad luck with him.
Keep in mind that the non-Bosch MAFs aren't inherently faulty, they don't come broken, they just don't work in the car. Something is not up to spec in their construction, for example. There's no test to be done by the mechanic that will reveal anything about the part, unless he unplugs it and drives the car. And he may not have time to do that, you are in the best position to do it. And even if he (or you) doesn't find anything, probability is above 90% it will give you trouble in the near future.
Bosch TPS is a good move.
These sensors like TPS, MAF, CPS are very expensive new. Consider that basically every car at the junkyard has working, high quality sensors. That's one way to save a bundle.

Gotchya Thanks. I've been doing the work on the car up until I took it to him to do some testing as the things I have replaced to date have not cleared up the problem. He did give me a choice between the Bremi and a Bosch. I chose the Bremi over the Bosch to save a bit of money as I have spent a ton so far. He did say that He had no problems with the Bremi thus far. In hindsight, I should have gotten the Bosch and will from now on. Expensive lesson learned. Waiting on the Bosch TPS before I take it back to him.

It is always better to use used OE or OEM electronic parts from junkyard than to buy NEW aftermarket ones...especially those suspicious aftermarket brands.
