Only used it in the garage while battery was in the 850.

Is it safe to remove the battery and charge inside my apt? Something tells me “NO”.

I’ll be home while it’s charging.

I don’t live in the same place, and no access to an outlet outdoors.

Thanks!
With a low current tender, you should be fine.

2nd question for battery.

I had the battery tested, only about 0.15 Volts, battery supposed to be healthy. AAA was able to jump it.

I KNOW because the battery is so low that if I turn off the engine it won’t start up, been down this road before.

If I leave the engine on, letting it idle, would that charge the battery enough OR do I need to drive it for a few hours non stop?

I hate not having a garage or outlet anymore.

Too nervous to charger battery in apt with Baterry Tender :/

An alternator will rarely charge a nearly dead battery. If it is really only 0.15V I'd be guessing the battery is toast.

Battery tender with battery on a large ceramic dinner plate in case of boil over. Unless you're smoking right next to it, there is little risk.

Well for now the engine is on, but I’m sure the charge may not last a day.

You could be right about it being toast.

If the battery is no longer good from not being used, how would I know for sure if I use Battery Tender? Or grow impatient and see if some place like Autozone will charge it?

AAA’s little gadget seems to think baterry is just really low obviously, but still heathy, ie can hold a charge.

Statement is dead wrong! The minerals in tap water or drinking water can really screw up the battery chemistry.

Use nothing but pure distilled water. Not distilled drinking water, use the stuff your grand mother would use in her clothes iron, cost a whole dollar per gallon at Walmarts. Way way way, less then the cost of a replaceing a battery with its chemistry knocked out of balance by the wrong water.

This is a prime example of why they went to "maintenance free" batteries and tell people they are sealed when they are not. They get way way less warranty claims due to dry cells then they got from people topping off with the wrong water.

For the battery manufactures paying more warranty claims due to dry cells is peanuts compared to what it was costing them to deal with people topping off with the wrong water.

Pure water is tasteless, it will not react with your taste buds at all. The drinking water bottlers add stuff back in after the water is purified to give it taste. If the water has any taste at all ,do not put it in your battery. If the water has no taste whatsoever, it is the good stuff.

Its battery acid, not a toilet bowl cleaner.

Back in the days of unregulated battery chargers, getting the cells
to a "boil" and causing them to off-gas was not unusual. But you'd
need to be in a pretty confined space to even approach a hazard.

The only time I've ever known a battery to explode was when an
impatient freshman brought a completely frozen battery into his
room and put it on a 60 amp charger, then stashed it in his closet
so the RA won't spot it. The closet contained the explosion and
saved a lot of his stuff, but he lost everything in the closet
and ALL of his clothes. ( And got kicked out of the dorms...)

Modern maintenance chargers are "smart", monitor the state of
charge and won't blow your battery up. They're also very low
current, so it may take a few days to fully charge a totally flat battery.

So go ahead, bring it in and let it charge. And definitely make use of
some form of acid proof tray to prevent any damage to the floor. Not
from an overflow as much as keeping any residual acid on the bottom
of the battery from staining anything.

Once it's charged, swing by the parts store to
get the battery and charging system tested.
