2003XC70 Want a cheap lift for the over sized tires?

Post by carboncow »

This is kind of funny...for years I talked to the guys online who sold a 2" lift for XC70...ever pulled the trigger...then they disappeared...then they came back.

In the mean time I ran Yokohma AST...the largest you could fit. Got about 3 years out of them. They beat up my inner/outer tie rods a bit but hey it's a Volvo and the front ends are mush most of the time regardless.

So our 2003 XC70 is now our third vehicle for dogs, trailers and snowdays for the wife so no part is to cheap for keeping it alive at 200K...I even made the mistake on the $30 MAF sensor at one point (secret...they don't work).

So I got the loaded struts by Sensen (Amazon)...slapped them in this week and guess what?

they are 2" to tall...looks silly (unless you have the big tires). Enjoy the photo!!!

Anyone with that much of a lift should give their dog away to another Volvo owner down the street who keeps their Volvos to factory specs.

Hey it wasn't by choice!! I have an email into the company to see how they respond.

An xc70 is definitely a boat.
I just am interested in the Bad Swede Lift but obviously the $550 is a tough one for me

The handling with the front of the car jacked this much must have been worse than in a Tatra truck..

Bad Swede (see the MVS XC70 lift post on them) was indeed the original business that made the lift kits, or at least they made waves with this mod in 2011. Now the Bad Swede domain redirects to https://www.xc70liftkit.com/.

I contacted the Bad Swede owner to see if he's running the new domain/products. I have emails with him going back to 2011.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
