Hit the junkyard today for a new front passenger side door handle cable and went ahead and got the door lock actuator and latch assembly. I broke my handle cable yesterday. And I scored with getting a door lock that actually works!!! Mine would not unlock, yeah. An HVAC control, got it for the lights, was sad as it would not control the vents and the lights didn't work but they ohm'd like the should be intact. Maybe I need to clean the connections. I got a tail lightbulb assembly because the fog lights wouldn't work on one, a front passenger door light cuz mine broke.

I scored a unicorn as well, 2 intact fog light hole covers!!! Super excited about those, I even installed them before leaving the junkyard!

You have to know that gratifying feeling you get when you score parts like those grilles! It's something those who don't go to junkyards will never understand!

Then again, it's also a great feeling to open up Volvo blue boxes. But it's not as special, just anyone can order a part.

They even wrap them in plastic to shed the tears of the price...but as the saying goes, pay once and Cry once...

I popped in the RH cover on my T5 today - $14 from FCP

Now I can flash the Rs when I pass with verve and élan..

Better watch out for those Rs, I've been picking up the pace!

Got the interior all back together yesterday before spontaneously pulling the engine/trans out of my brother's Miata. I don't know if it was a valve stem seal or two that failed (LOTS of oil in cylinder 4) or the head gasket, but compression is good and the oil and coolant both look clean. Whatever happened, the engine is sitting on the hoist in my garage right now next to the car, so it's not important. Manual 1.8 swap here we come!

We gotta find you some new skins - and you won't pass us until you get an 'R' on that steering wheel, either.

Nice progress!!

Yeah, the driver's seat has seen better days. The rest of them are pretty good.

Finally removed my gas tank to investigate a long time fuel leak.

Is that some sort of JB welded plug?

I took my mine on a road rally with 5 Rs and stopped at the final spot down by the river waiting for them...
