1999 s80 2.5 diesel.What engine?
Ive just bought an S80 diesel and love it so far.Manual tells me the engine type is stamped on the back of the block but I cant find it.I can feel some letters lower down but might have to remove rocker cover to see them.Is this the case?I know its a VW Audi engine but will probably need more info when it comes to buying parts. Also cant remove bulb failure position light even though bulbs all seem ok.Any help, thanks,Paul
We can't get such a vehicle in the USA, but if you can decode your VIN you might find some clues. Sounds like quite a car. When visiting Copenhagen and Edinburgh I noticed many diesels we can not get here. Wish we had more here.

The Audi built D5254T engine was fitted up to model year 2002.
Bill.
This is a common problem on the S80. Check that all the rear bulbs are working, bearing in mind that there are two position bulbs in both rear light units. Also check the reg plate bulbs. One other thing that has been noted on these cars is that it pays to change bulbs in pairs, even if only one has gone off..Also cant remove bulb failure position light even though bulbs all seem ok.
