Apparently, the car doesn't like them, because immediately after I got sputtering and coughing like crazy. CEL came on with multiple misfire codes.
I never checked after I bought the car in the spring, but I pulled the cap and rotor and they are the worse ones I have ever seen. Same goes for the plugs.

The poster child event for the “ad hoc ergo propter hoc” fallacy.

As a new member of this forum, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Ocelot and I'm from the Netherlands. I've been a car-mechanic for six years before my back told me to find another job. I'm a tall fellow, about 2.05 meters tall so it isn't a suprise I chose to drive a Volvo S70. I was really lucky to find the one that I did with only one previous owner and a detailed maintenance-history. I couldn't be happier! I have the car for just two weeks now and today I brought it to a local Volvo dealer for the yearly inspection and for a non-functioning airconditioning.

I just received a phonecall that she passed the inspection, only thing wrong was a broken CV-boot which they fixed for a fair price. The airconditioning was low on R134a, so that's working as it should now.

Here's a pic of Freya: https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipN ... LYyZsoqAzW

I hope to help people where I can on this forum and when the time comes, I can find some help with Freya.

Hoi Ocelot,

Welkom! Leuk om wat meer Nederlandse Volvo-ervaringen uit te kunnen wisselen. (Welcome! It's nice to hear about other experiences with Volvo from the Netherlands.)

Cool that you bought an S70! I have been dreaming about having one as a second car (now have a blue 1999 V70XC that has 330.000 km on it and still going strong.)
Let me know if you run into any issues, as I have unfortunately gained some experience with the common failures!

Waited in vain for the Rs to show up for the ferry. Even kept the second place row open for them. Alas, they are still en route so I boarded.

June caught the ferry an hour before.

Matches the paint...

I’ve hortiblyabused the paint on this car. Look at the scratches the twins didhelping me scrape snow off one winter, with a steel edge shovel...

On edit,..yesterday I drove ALB to Allentown PA to Piscataway N.J. , Queens , Melville, BROOKHAVEN, Port Jeff, Bridgeport CT, Lee MA, back to ALB

I love boost.

Those scratches are nothing compared to my cousin's T5. His even has a smiley face scratched into the hood. The last owner had some fun drawing on the car.

Boost is addictive.
