Does anyone know the "right" clamp to apply for a silicone Mishimoto hose? I keep getting leaks at the same point and I'm to the point I'll replace the ABA hose clamp with a T-Clamp if I can find the right one. The location I'm trying to clamp is where the lower radiator hose goes over the transmission and connects to the coolant pipe/neck.

The top hose is a challenge. Especially if you have an aftermarket radiator. The OE radiator top hose outlet has a metal liner which keeps the hose round as you tighten the top hose onto it. All of the aftermarket radiators I have had do not have this and in fact they are often not round at all and to add to that they often have a join that runs the length of the outlet on the radiator with mold flashing which does not allow the pipe to tighten evenly around it. I always replaced the top hose with a radiator change and even that did not guarantee a leak free install.

Try checking for this and filing the pipe surface to remove any unevenness.

Also check for hairline cracks on the top outlet pipe of the radiator. Mine sheared right off.

Finally check the radiator itself for a leak between the end cap and the aluminum fins as the seal fails with age and often starts at the top as that is the highest stress point on the radiator.

I think your link is missing.

I just installed do88 silicone hoses and had a little leak from the lower hose at the radiator. I just used normal hose clamps. Ended up having to reseat it a bit and clamped down a bit harder. For yours, make sure the metal on the pipe is free of any corrosion or debris. Those metal pipe ends are common places for buildup. You can use a scouring pad or very fine grit sandpaper to smooth it out and help make a better seal. You should be able to torque down pretty hard on the hose clamps too.

So far so good. Clamped down very evenly without having to rearrange the clamp at all. Cleaned the pipe with 100 grit sand paper. The new clamp thus far is working great.
