Could be the tires. The car had the origional 15" mags and tires when I bought it, but I sold them off for the 16" Volvo mags I prefer. I have 8 of them. Then I went from the 205/55/16 American tires to the 215/55/16 French tires. Possibly the car had nicely settled in with the 195/60/15s and my change has shifted the forces to newer areas of support. With time the moan could go away.
